Your JPG files
JPG uses lossy compression and may be larger than HEIC. Keep your originals for their metadata and full color information.
Photos are processed one at a time on your device. Supported SDR sRGB and Display P3 photos become 8-bit sRGB JPGs. HDR encodings, unknown color profiles, image sequences and premultiplied transparency are not supported. Original camera metadata and Live Photo motion are not copied. Up to 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; ready JPGs are limited to 256 MB in total. A failed photo does not discard your other results.
Convert HEIC to JPG without uploading your photos
An iPhone photo ends in .heic, but a form, document or app asks for JPG. This converter creates a real JPEG file in your browser. Set the quality, choose your saved photos, check the previews and download. No account, installation or watermark is needed.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Choose image quality and a background for any transparent areas. The defaults are 90% quality and white. Choose files or drop your saved HEIC photos into the converter.
- Wait for Ready to download. Check each preview, dimensions and JPG file size. Settings stay fixed while the batch is present; Clear all lets you choose new settings.
- Choose Download JPG for one photo, or Download all JPGs (ZIP) for the ready photos. Extract the ZIP to use the JPG files. Your HEIC originals stay unchanged.
Convert HEIC to JPG in bulk
All photos use the quality and background you choose before adding files. Each has its own preview, status and download. Add more photos, stop unfinished conversions or remove results. A failed photo does not discard ready JPGs. The ZIP includes ready photos with unique names for duplicates. Download your results, then use Clear all to change settings.
Check the preview and background
The preview shows the encoded JPG, including compression artifacts. Check the orientation and colors before downloading. JPEG cannot keep transparency, so transparent areas receive your selected background color. Existing opaque areas are not replaced. This tool does not remove a photo background.

Choose JPG quality and compare the file size
A higher quality setting usually retains more detail and creates a larger file. Lower settings can introduce visible artifacts. Even 100 uses lossy compression; the percentage is an encoder setting, not a promise of retained detail. Conversion keeps displayed pixel dimensions but cannot recover detail lost in the original. HEIC is efficient, so a JPG may be larger. Compare the actual download size and preview.
Convert HEIC on Windows, Mac or a phone
On Windows, Linux or Mac, choose a saved HEIC file or drag it into the converter. On iPhone, iPad or Android, use Choose files and select the original photo from Files. Keep this tab open while converting. Find downloaded JPGs or ZIPs through your browser’s downloads. Available memory and file support vary by device.
Changing .heic to .jpg is not conversion
Renaming changes the filename, not the image data. This tool decodes the HEIC photo and creates JPEG data with a .jpg extension. It uses saved files on your device and does not fetch remote image URLs.
Your files stay on your device
Conversion and ZIP creation run in your browser. Image bytes, filenames, thumbnails and sizes are not sent to our servers or analytics, and files are not saved to browser storage. Clear all or close the tab to discard the working batch. The page uses website analytics, but your images and file details are hidden from session recordings.
HEIC to JPG questions
Is this HEIC to JPG converter free?
Yes. Convert and download without payment, an account or a watermark. File and batch limits keep the task manageable in your browser.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files to JPG at once?
Yes. Select up to 100 photos, with a 50 MB limit per file and a 200 MB limit per batch. Download ready JPGs individually or in a ZIP. The image limit is 24 megapixels; export a smaller copy of a 48-megapixel photo before converting.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Photo conversion and ZIP creation happen in your browser. The page and its decoder download from the website, but your photos and filenames are not sent to a conversion server or analytics.
Will a Live Photo or image sequence keep moving?
No. JPG output is a single still image. Live Photo motion is not included, and image sequences are not supported. Keep the originals when motion matters.
Why is the JPG larger than the HEIC?
HEIC compresses photos efficiently. A high-quality JPG can require more bytes. Download your results, clear the batch and try a lower quality setting if you need a smaller file. Review the new preview for visible artifacts.
Is HEIC to JPG conversion lossless?
No. JPEG adds lossy compression, even at quality 100. Conversion cannot restore missing detail or increase resolution. Keep your original for archiving, and use a suitable lossless output if you need to avoid another lossy encoding step.
Are HDR, metadata and original color profiles preserved?
No. Supported SDR sRGB and Display P3 photos become 8-bit sRGB JPGs. Colors outside sRGB may change. Camera metadata, location tags and original profiles are not copied. Direct HDR encodings and unknown or incompatible profiles show an error. For supported photos with a separate HDR gain map, only the base still image is converted.
Why will my HEIC photo not convert?
Read the message beside the photo. It may be damaged, use an unsupported encoding, exceed a size limit or need more memory than your browser has. Try a smaller photo or a current browser. Ready downloads remain available when another file fails.
Are HEIC to JPG and HEIC to JPEG the same conversion?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are filename extensions for the same image format. This page creates JPEG image data and downloads it with a .jpg extension. You do not need a separate HEIC to JPEG converter.
