Privacy first — no image uploads

Drop HEIC photos here

One image or a whole batch. Conversion starts automatically.

50 MB per file · 200 MB per batch · Up to 100 files

HEIC and HEIF still photos · Up to 24 megapixels

Photos are processed one at a time on your device. Supported SDR sRGB and Display P3 photos become 8-bit sRGB PNGs. HDR encodings, unknown color profiles, image sequences and premultiplied transparency are not supported. Original camera metadata and Live Photo motion are not copied. Up to 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; ready PNGs are limited to 256 MB in total. A failed photo does not discard your other results.

Convert HEIC to PNG without uploading your photos

Have a .heic photo that your app cannot open? Create a real PNG for a document, presentation or website. Choose your saved photo, check the result and download it. No account, installation or watermark is needed.

How to convert HEIC to PNG

  1. Choose files or drop your saved HEIC photos into the converter. Select several photos for a batch.
  2. Wait for each image to show Ready to download. Check its preview, dimensions and PNG file size.
  3. Choose Download PNG for one image, or Download all PNGs (ZIP) for the ready images in your batch. Extract the ZIP to use the PNG files.

Convert a batch of HEIC photos

Download each ready PNG, or choose Download all PNGs to get a ZIP. Each photo has its own preview and status. You can add files, stop unfinished conversions and remove results. If one photo fails, the others remain available. Duplicate filenames receive unique names in the ZIP.

A preview of the image you will download

Check the preview before downloading, especially the orientation and colors. The converter does not remove backgrounds, sharpen photos or recover missing detail. A checkerboard indicates transparent areas; it is not added to your image.

What changes when HEIC becomes PNG?

PNG makes a photo usable in many apps, but it can take more storage than HEIC. Supported SDR sRGB and Display P3 photos become 8-bit sRGB still images. Colors outside sRGB may change. Original metadata and motion are not retained. Keep your HEIC original for archiving or color-critical work.

Use saved photos on a computer or phone

On Windows, Linux or Mac, choose a saved file or drag it into the converter. On iPhone or Android, use Choose files and select the original photo from Files. Keep this tab open while converting. Downloaded PNGs and ZIPs are available through your browser’s downloads. Available memory and file support vary by device.

Changing .heic to .png is not conversion

Renaming a file only changes its name. This tool decodes the photo and creates PNG image data that PNG-compatible apps can read. It works with files on your device and does not fetch remote image URLs.

Your files stay on your device

Conversion and ZIP creation run in your browser. Image bytes, filenames, thumbnails and sizes are not sent to our servers or analytics, and files are not saved to browser storage. Clear all or close the tab to discard the working batch. The page uses website analytics, but your images and file details are hidden from session recordings.

HEIC to PNG questions

Is this HEIC to PNG converter free?

Yes. Convert and download without payment, an account or a watermark. File and batch limits keep the task manageable in your browser.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes. Choose several photos and download the ready PNGs individually or together in a ZIP. Limits are 50 MB per file, 200 MB per batch and 100 files. Large decoded photos may reach the output or memory limit sooner.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photo conversion and ZIP creation happen in your browser. The page and its decoder download from the website, but your photos and filenames are not sent to a conversion server or analytics.

Will a Live Photo or image sequence keep moving?

No. PNG output is a single still image. Live Photo motion is not included, and image sequences are not supported. Keep the originals when motion matters.

Why is the PNG larger than the HEIC?

HEIC compresses photographs efficiently. PNG often needs more bytes to store the decoded image. Conversion improves compatibility; it is not a way to compress your HEIC photo. Each ready result shows its download size.

Does converting to PNG improve photo quality?

No. Conversion cannot restore detail already lost when the photo was compressed. It also does not increase resolution or add sharpness. Review the preview and keep your original.

Are HDR, metadata and original color profiles preserved?

No. Supported SDR sRGB and Display P3 photos become 8-bit sRGB PNGs. Camera metadata, location tags and original profiles are not copied. Direct HDR encodings and unknown or incompatible profiles show an error. For supported photos with a separate HDR gain map, only the base still image is converted.

Why will my HEIC photo not convert?

Read the message beside the photo. It may be damaged, use an unsupported encoding, exceed a size limit or need more memory than your browser has. Try a smaller photo or a current browser. Ready downloads remain available when another file fails.

Does this support 48-megapixel photos?

Not at full resolution. The current limit is 24 megapixels. Export a smaller copy from your photo app, then convert that copy here. Your original is not modified.
