Add it to your website
- Unzip the download and put the three image files in your website’s root folder.
- Replace existing favicon tags with this HTML inside the <head> of each page.
Using another folder? Update the three paths to match. For a CMS, check its site-icon size requirements; you may need a larger original image.
Publish your changes, then reload your site. Browsers can cache an old favicon; a fresh private window can help you check.
A small icon that makes your site recognizable
A favicon is the small image beside your page title in a browser tab. It also helps people recognize your site in bookmarks and search results. Use a bold mark or a single letter; fine details and long words disappear at small sizes.
Can I convert PNG to ICO?
Yes. Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP and this favicon generator creates a real ICO containing 16, 32 and 48 px images. The ZIP also includes a 96 px PNG and a 180 px Apple touch icon. SVG and animated images aren’t supported.
Does my image need to be square?
No. Your image is centered inside a square without stretching or cropping. Transparent is the default background; choose White or Dark if your logo needs it. Add padding for more breathing room.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Image processing and file creation happen in this browser. Your image and its filename are not sent to a server or saved by this tool.
Will this change my icon in Google Search?
The 96 px PNG is a square image suitable for a search favicon. Google needs to crawl your home page and icon again after you publish them. Display is not guaranteed and changes can take time.
