Your JPG files
JPG uses lossy compression and cannot keep transparency. Your chosen background replaces transparent areas; dimensions stay the same.
Formats, limits and what is preserved
Images keep their displayed dimensions. Up to 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; JPG results are limited to 256 MB in total to keep memory use bounded. Images are processed one at a time. JPG output is a still, opaque image; original metadata and color profiles are not copied. Colors follow your browser’s image decoding.
Convert WebP to JPG, without uploading your images
A saved image ends in .webp, but a document, website or older app asks for JPG. This free online converter creates a real JPEG image on your device. Set the quality, choose a background if the source has transparency, and save your files without an account or watermark.
How to convert a WebP file to JPG
- Choose image quality and a background color. The default is 90% quality with a white background for transparent areas. Choose files or drop your .webp images into the converter.
- Wait for Ready to download. Check each preview, dimensions and JPG file size. Settings stay fixed while the batch is present; Clear all lets you choose new settings.
- Choose Download JPG for one image, or Download all JPGs (ZIP) for the ready images. Extract the ZIP to use the JPG files. Your original WebP images stay unchanged.
Convert WebP to JPG in bulk
Select multiple WebP files and use the same quality and background for the whole batch. Each image has its own preview, status and download. Add more files with those settings, stop unfinished conversions or remove individual files. A damaged file does not prevent the others from converting. The ZIP includes only ready JPGs, with unique names for duplicates.
Choose a background for transparent WebP images
JPEG does not support transparency. This converter fills transparent and partly transparent areas with your selected color before encoding the JPG. White is selected by default; choose another background before adding files if it suits your image. Existing opaque areas are not replaced. To keep a transparent background, use the WebP to PNG converter instead.

Control JPG quality and file size
JPG is a lossy format. A higher quality setting usually retains more detail and creates a larger file; a lower setting can introduce visible artifacts. A setting of 100 is still not lossless and cannot recover detail already lost in the WebP. This tool keeps the displayed pixel dimensions. JPG is not guaranteed to be smaller than WebP, so compare the actual output size and preview before using it.
Change WebP to JPG on Windows, Mac or a phone
Use this page in a current Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge browser. On a computer, drag files from your folder or use Choose files. On iPhone, iPad or Android, use Choose files to open the system file picker; saved downloads are usually available through Files or Downloads. No converter installation is needed. Keep this tab open until your download starts.
Save a WebP as an actual JPEG file
Save the WebP image to your device first, then open it here and download its JPG version. Renaming .webp to .jpg changes only the filename, not the image data. This converter creates JPEG data with a .jpg extension. It accepts local files, not remote image URLs, so your image is not fetched through a server.
Your files stay on your device
Conversion and ZIP creation run in your browser. Image bytes, filenames, thumbnails and sizes are not sent to our servers or analytics, and files are not saved to browser storage. Clear all or close the tab to discard the working batch. The page uses website analytics, but your images and file details are hidden from session recordings.
WebP to JPG questions
Is this WebP to JPG converter free?
Yes. Convert and download JPG images without payment, signup or watermarks. The file, batch and image-dimension limits are shown in the converter.
Can I convert multiple WebP files to JPG at once?
Yes. Select or drop up to 100 images, with a 50 MB limit per file and a 200 MB limit for the batch. All files use the quality and background you chose before adding them. Download JPGs individually or in a ZIP.
What happens to a transparent background?
Transparent areas are filled with the background color you select. The default is white. JPG cannot contain transparent pixels. Use PNG if you need to preserve transparency; this tool does not remove an existing photo background.
What happens to an animated WebP?
Only its first frame is converted to a still JPG, and an animation warning appears beside the result. The animation is not preserved. Keep the original WebP if you need a moving image.
Why is my JPG larger than the WebP?
WebP often stores images more efficiently than JPEG. A high JPG quality setting may produce a larger file than the original. Lower the quality for a new batch if you need a smaller result, and check that the image still looks right.
Can I just rename .webp to .jpg?
No. Renaming changes the extension, not the encoded image. Convert the file to create actual JPEG data that an app expecting JPG can read.
Are image metadata and color profiles preserved?
No. The JPG is a fresh encoding of the browser-decoded image. Original camera metadata, resolution tags and color profiles are not copied. Image orientation is applied to the displayed pixels. Keep the original when those details matter.
Why will an image not convert?
Check the message beside that file. It may be damaged, exceed a size or dimension limit, or use a format your browser cannot decode. SVG, HEIC and PDF are not supported. Try a smaller file or a current browser; ready JPGs remain downloadable.
Are JPG and JPEG the same format?
Yes. JPG and JPEG are filename extensions for the same image format. This page creates JPEG image data and downloads files with a .jpg extension. You do not need a separate WebP to JPEG converter.
